Kymera Management Group is comprised of senior managers with extensive business experience helping companies grow in highly competitive industries. Each of our consultants have worked at least 5 years at the executive level, been directly responsible for achieving top- and bottom-line business targets, managed large budgets, and led teams of up to 200 people. We are practical and results-oriented, and strive to be highly responsive to clients' needs by providing useful, innovative solutions.


Management Group

E. Bruce Dwyer, BBA, MBA
Senior Partner & Founder

Bruce Dwyer is a result-oriented company owner, general manager, and management consultant with over 25 years of broad and varied experience at the executive management level. He has extensive experience in finance, sales, marketing, operations, distribution, and business planning. He has set and implemented strategy, structured organizations, and grown or right-sized companies for improved operational efficiency and profitability.

As a senior line Executive responsible for profitability, he has planned and directed growth and reorganization, appointed and managed direct reports in Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Strategic Management. He has directed teams of up to 200 employees.

He assists owners and executives with visioning; strategic management; operational decision-making; reengineering, policies and procedures, and the development of tools focused on financial, operating, and management success.

Bruce has a Masters in Business Administration from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and is currently a visiting lecturer at the University of Phoenix, Vancouver Campus in the areas of Global Business, Operations Management, Finance, and Strategic Management.

Richard Vann, B. Eng., MBA
Senior Partner & Founder

Richard is a senior executive with a 20-year plus track record of growing sales and profits in highly entrepreneurial companies. He has a strong background in strategic planning, general management, sales, marketing, and product management. Richard has both broad US and international experience with small start-up companies and large Fortune 500 multi-nationals.

Richard has worked over 10 years at the executive level, been responsible for achieving revenue targets of $150+ million, managed budgets greater than $30 million, and led teams of up to 25 people.

Richard currently helps senior management to increase shareholder value by creating strategic business plans, aligning sales and marketing resources, defining new sales tactics, evaluating new markets, developing new products, crafting branding strategies, and building sustainable competitive advantage.

Richard has an MBA from the University of BC and a Bachelor of Engineering from McGill University.


Susan Vann, P. Eng.
Senior Partner & Founder

Susan is a senior Operations and Human Resource Management professional with demonstrated revenue and profit growth in dynamic and fast-paced organizations. She brings insight and practical knowledge of how to implement for today and plan for the future. Susan has extensive business background in international, multicultural, and entrepreneurial environments, and has the ability to lead and motivate diverse teams of professionals to new levels of success.

From 1986 to 1998, Susan held senior level positions in manufacturing at several leading packaged goods and companies including Nabob Foods Limited, Shell Canada Chemical Company, and Yves Veggie Cuisine. While at these companies, she was instrumental in improving operating efficiencies, reducing costs through streamlining process operations, and creating a more productive organization. Since 1998, Susan has worked as a consultant in a variety of industries in the area of General Management, Human Resources, Operations, and Business Planning.

In 2006, Susan joined Robeez Footwear as VP Operations and was then promoted to General Manager. Some of her accomplishments included:

  • Providing vision and leadership to grow the business from $26 million to $32 million in a challenging retail environment
  • Implementing new sourcing strategies in offshore markets resulting in the transfer of all product manufacturing to Asia and a cost reduction of 30% in overall costs of goods sold
  • Directing double-digit European sales growth by expanding into new geographic regions and introducing new Euro-specific product lines
  • Integrating Robeez into parent company operations by moving manufacturing to Asia and shifting all corporate head office functions to US resulting in annual savings of over $1 million

Susan's formal education includes a B. Eng. from McGill University and an Operations Management Certificate from the University of Western Ontario. She is also a Certified HR Professional Candidate from the Canadian Council of HR Associations, a registered Professional Engineer, and a board advisor with several entrepreneurial companies.


Associates

Renata Paynter
Renata Paynter is an HR professional with over 15 years of HR management experience in both union and non-union environments. She has extensive experience in HR operations, policy development, training and development, recruitment, and collective agreement negotiations. She has provided direct support to employees in the form of career counselling and recommendations for employee performance and been a member of a number of committees including Labour/Management, Employment Equity, and various other advisory committees.

She is broadly trained in adult education and has worked hands-on in the classroom with adults where she was responsible for the development and execution of the program. Ranata has also sat on an Advisory Committee for curriculum development for a local college and chaired a Career Development Committee for a local school board. She has proven competencies include HR Management, Performance Management, Training and Development, Labour Relations, Employee Relations, and Full Cycle Recruitment.

Renata holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from UBC and a CHRP designation from the Canadian Council of Human Resources. She also holds an Adult Education Certification from Cambridge University and is an active member of HRMA.

Roger Barnes
Roger Barnes, principal of Roger Barnes Marketing Planning Ltd., has a unique combination of experience in both marketing and marketing research, allowing him to 'bridge the gap' between marketing and research, to make research actionable.

Six years each with Nestle and Nabob Foods gave him a thorough understanding of the disciplines of business and marketing. At Nabob Foods he was Marketing Director, responsible for all aspects of marketing Canada's best selling coffee brand and the company's other food lines. In 1986 he became a Partner in MarkTrend Research Inc., which grew into the leading research company based on the West Coast and the tenth largest research company nationally. Roger Barnes has operated Roger Barnes Marketing Planning from August 1992 to date. Kymera Managements draws from this boutique research company to allow clients to gain the advantages of having a senior in-house researcher on an 'as and when needed' basis. Some of Roger's clients include Tourism BC, Sun-Rype, Boston Pizza, Tourism BC and the Royal BC Museum.


Debbie Pearmain
Debbie Pearmain is a Human Resources professional specializing in employee training, leadership development, recruiting, career counseling, and coaching. Prior to opening her own consulting business, Debbie worked with Accenture Business Services in the area of Organization and Human Performance: Change Management and in Human Resources in a variety of Generalist and People Development roles. Her industry experience includes: Non Profit, Resources, Tourism, Environmental, Bio Technology, Manufacturing, Construction, Real Estate, Legal Services, Insurance, Food Services, Marketing, and Products and Services.

Some of her past and present clients include St. John's Ambulance, BC Hydro, Remax Realty, Hain Celestial, M&L painting, Go2Hr, S Laursen and Son, Sycorp Environmental, WD Cole Insurance, The Vancouver School Board, Edgewood Construction, Kuban Electric, Hot House Growers, The Mex Group of Companies, Zlotnik Lamb and Co., Palcor Construction, Inventa Sales and Promotions and Q Imaging.
